UKULELE FESTIVAL 2011

It was another fun day of music and sunshine at the Ukulele Festival at the Kapiolani park bandstand. We were there representing the Martin Guitar company, or in this context the Martin Ukulele company. People were very happy to see the return Conert and Tenor size ukuleles from this giant of the industry. Several prototypes were displayed, and some friends were made.

2010s annual Slack Key Guitar Festival on Sunday August 15th at Kapiolani park was a wonderful day of music, guitars, and fun! Taylor Guitars once again joined us for a booth to give guitar lovers the very first peek at the amazing new GS Mini and some incredible built to order instruments. A big mahalo goes out to all who attended and especially to Billy Gill and David Kaye from Taylor Guitars! Hope to see you all there in 2011!

The Festival was a great success and a lot of fun this year! Here are some pictures of the booth we shared with the Martin Guitar Company on Sunday July 18th at Kapiolani park. Taylor Guitars and Island Guitars were on hand at the 2010 Na Hoku Music Festival at the Hawaii Convention Center in May sharing the wonderful Taylor magic with local and mainland music professionals. Special thanks to Dave and Andy from Taylor who flew in to dazzle with a slew of beautiful guitars in tow. Several of these beauties are still available for sale for a limited time here at the store! We would like to thank all of you who attended our Taylor Guitars Road Show last September. Nearly one hundred of you came in to see the presentation from Taylor Guitars staffers Steve Bernstein and David Kaye. Steve and David were pleased with the Saturday evening turnout and the enthusiastic response they received. It made for an informative and entertaining evening!

After the Saturday show, we woke up early the following Sunday morning to set up the Taylor Guitars booth at the Oahu Slack Key Guitar Festival at Kapiolani Park. Once again, Steve and David were on hand to meet and greet all the slack key music and guitar lovers who visited the booth. Island Guitars staffer Kenny Ashburn, yours truly and my son, Matthew also welcomed the crowds.
